Coimbatore International Airport (CJB) to Coimbatore Junction railway station (CBE) is about 11 km by road, roughly 13 to 15 minutes without traffic. A prepaid taxi from the arrival counter or an app cab is the direct option. By public bus, there is no direct route on the published lists.

By bus: what the official lists show
- AAI lists one bus service at the airport: TNSTC, Airport to Gandhipuram. It publishes no timings or fares.
- Coimbatore Corporation’s route directory (the list of town-bus routes by start and end point) has one route ending at the airport: 16, Town Hall to Airport. It also lists 25 routes starting from “Railway Station”, but none of them ends at the airport.
So there is no single bus on these lists that runs from the airport to the railway station. You would change buses in the city. The directory gives only start and end points, not the stops in between, so confirm your stop with the conductor.
Railway station to airport (the reverse trip)
From Coimbatore Junction to the airport terminal is also about 11 km (10.98 km) by road, roughly 13 minutes without traffic by the same routing. By bus, the same lists apply: route 16 ends at the airport, but there is no direct route from the railway station.
If you are catching a flight, allow extra time for traffic; the drive estimates here have no live traffic in them.
Two things people mix up
- Coimbatore Junction (CBE) and Coimbatore North (CBF) are different stations. Southern Railway lists them separately. Check which one is printed on your ticket before you set off.
- 9 km or 11 km? AAI’s transport page says the railway station is 9 km from the airport, without a method. Our 11 km is the measured driving route from the terminal to the station, and the route decides your cab fare.

How we measured the distance
We ran the OpenStreetMap routing service (OSRM, car profile) on 28 September 2026. The route went from the airport terminal building (11.0305, 77.0393) to the Coimbatore Junction station (10.9976, 76.9664), with both coordinates from OpenStreetMap.
- Airport to station: 10,951 m, 895 seconds.
- Station to airport: 10,981 m, 806 seconds.
The station point snapped to Goods Shed Road, about 100 m from the station centre, so the distance to the main entrance may differ slightly.
